Gardening
As is often the case , I ’m a bit recent write this post , but the photos were taken on the last 24-hour interval of January . Green is staging a fightback against the dominant Brown University of winter in my garden . This is mostly from leaves of light bulb of various form – crocus , daffodils , Allium , even tulips now . If not spring exactly , there are sign Winter might be on its way out .
Let ’s do the duty tour .

Rear Garden
The Patio Border – Alliums are the main greenery visible in this border , although the daffs are beginning to assert themselves too . I have implant genus Allium ‘ summer drummer ’ in a chemical group beleaguer the tall asters underneath the red lot there . They should get to a salutary 5 or 6 metrical foot tall . I ’m pleased about the genus Stachys , which looked very badly a month or two back . turn out that is normal winter moulting . clear aside the beat foliage leave them look pretty barren but they have shortly put on new growth and are look quite unused now .
The Sunny Border – I ’ve pruned and trained all the climbing roses , all look to be in fine fettle . I ’ve also cut back all the clematis on this fencing , they also look like they are raring to go . I still have n’t remove the struggling cotinus , but I shall . I ’ve planted more of those genus Allium ‘ summertime drummer ’ in a group around the helenium . They look a lot like leeks , of which they are a snog cousin . I have dozens more alliums to plant out , they are growing nicely in the greenhouse , wo n’t be long now . I have been looking with furrow brow at the lawn on this bit of garden . I ’ve nearly conclude that I do n’t require it , which would expand importantly the planting space , effectively merging the Patio and Sunny moulding in to one gargantuan planting area . So tantalising , the only limiting factor being metre to sort it out , what with all the marathon training .

The Wisteria Border , incorporating the Eye of Sauron . On first inspection , the bulb are doing the heavy lifting , but a tightlipped look payoff . Many of the perennial are demonstrate through the mulch , horn in upwards . I still do n’t wish the planting on the trellis side of the border , I involve to zuzz it up a bit . I will have plenty of plant , plus of course of action the genus Allium to load up in here .
The Lilac Border – Dullsville Arizona .
The Shady Border –

The Hibiscus Border – I enquire if I should engraft a low tree diagram in here . Hmmm . In the meantime the medulla oblongata are coming through , including some of last year ’s tulip . I marvel if they will bloom .
The Front Garden . There are n’t enough bulb in here . I demand more medulla oblongata ! I should also sort out the coping Edward Durell Stone on the wall . I “ bushel ” it years ago but got the howitzer mix damage so very few have stayed put . On the positive side , the abelia which I move from the back garden is looking much happy . The plant leaning out from the fence is ( in possibility ) an genus Abutilon ‘ suntense ’ , supposedly a bush that can be train against a wall or fence . Looks like I need to replant it execute the other way and give it some more encouragement , some more support perhaps .
That ’s it for this calendar month , I ’ll be back in a few weeks with another Border Patrol .
