Ever so shortly , as I am so tired – which is n’t just , because I have a long hebdomad and weekend forrader of with the National meeting of the North American Rock Garden Society which I leave for tomorrow in Michigan , but I want to share some pic from this past weekend which was stupendous – both atmospheric condition - wise and plant - wise . Spring has eventually get in , with temperature reaching into the 70 ’s all weekend , complete for our big party that kick off the National Primrose Society show held in conjunction with the Seven States Daffodil Society show both bear at Tower Hill Botanic Garden this weekend .

I wo n’t take over you with too many details , as this is an annual outcome which I save about on this web log , but this yr was so ok , with so many ear primroses entered ( the fancy 1 with farina white rings on them and so rarely seen here in America ) and the Narcissus pseudonarcissus show which had more entries than they ’ve seen in many age , both display were a success .

My friendJohn Lonsdalespoke on Saturday . I think I last find out him a few year back in Portland at a NARGS winter survey weekend when we escaped to have some taco .   I usually break off in to see him when we are near his abode in PA which encounter to be very well-nigh where we take the dogs for the national terrier show , which let me me to stock up on some of his many cyclamen mintage – ( I remember he grows them all ) . Johns plants are extraordinary , as he is punctilious in save his greenhouse clean and disease spare , as as a grower , his plants are strong and wellness , and his selection is unparraelled .   One of the only sources in the US that I recognise for for many of the Cyclamen species on his list .   I was able to stock up on my favourite mintage – Cyclamen graces ssp . anatolicum and C. good will . ssp . candicum ( Sorry , I kind - of bought all of them ! ) .

Then , NurserymanHarvey Wrightmanstayed with us s a house guest this past weekend . We always enjoy having Harvey and sometimes his married woman Irene visits with us whenever they can . This time , Irene had to stay back in New Brunswick , Canada to help oneself get plants quick for Harvey ’s trip out to the NARGS meeting in Ann Arbor , MI afterwards this workweek . I ’m triving there too , of course of action , but I do n’t begrudge his drive back up to Canada , and then back out the Michigan . I was thrilled to also have our dear friends from Toronto , Bella and Barbara sojourn . They came down to see the two show , and to visit with us and Ellen Hornig , the former owner of the no shut nursery Seneca Hill .   Today ( on Sunday ) , we had Bella and Barbara back over to the house so that they could expend a few hours with us as I just HAD to see some of their unbelievable photos from their 5 calendar week exploring and botanizing in Patagonia this preceding winter . I recollect they were not - so - subtly taste to convince me to go too.∫
