On a chilly day in late November , just before the Bulgarian winter really set in , three gentlewoman planted some particular tulips in the commons next to the parliament in the centre of Sofia . Since last week , the citizens of Sofia can enjoy the inflorescence of this friendship tulip , visit the Serdika . The tulip signifies the lasting friendship and partnership between the Netherlands and Bulgaria . It was evolve as a natural endowment to Bulgaria for the occasion of 110 years of diplomatical relation which the two land celebrated in 2019 .

The Ligthart peak growers in Den Helder build up the tulip and registered it upon request of the embassy in Sofia . “ I wanted the tulip to make up the colours of the Bulgarian flag .
