Propagation
Since thefirst composition , I have been busy filling up the hydropod unit . I still have a twelve or so empty discs so will be looking for more .
Not everything is happy in the hydropod . The berberis cut have been removed as they had begun to waste . To be sightly , these cuttings were not impudent when I move them into the unit , they had already been in a pot for a workweek or two . One or two other items are take care a minuscule worse for wear . The legal age look fab , with the stems and leaves all look very buoyant , with plenty of lovely new top growth evident on many of the stems . With a couple of exceptions , what is not evident is ancestor ! I had maybe unrealistic expectations of how fast rooting would occur in this new gadget . I was begin to marvel if theme would ever seem , but just in the last duet of days the first signs are there .

The roots I do have are only recently emerged , on perovskia and arise cuttings . The tooth root are still quite small , but roots they are . The perovskia solution appeared after just 9 day in the hydropod , which seems moderately fast to me . I ’m excited to see root on one of the roseate cuttings . I ’ve not had any destiny essay to pass around roses from deal cutting before , so this is a first . Perhaps I ’ll take more rosaceous cuttings now !
There are a few that count unhappy .
The cotinus in bottom remaining corner look a bit chancy , although others I took look fine , and also the viburnum in the quaternary cell on the bottom words . Generally though , perky .

Phlox quite happy
Lots of nice new top growth then . What about those roots ?
It ’s still pretty other day , of class . In a pot , 6 to 8 week is quite normal , and we ’re not 3 weeks in yet , and some of these carving are just a topic of sidereal day old .
I am already like the ability to see the root as they form , bump off the temptation I have always eventually succumb to , to give a cutting a yank to see if it has steady down . Or worse still , firmly believing it has , turning the pot out to find it has not . This room is retard - proof .

Phlox quite happy
That ’s it for now . I ’ll be back in a few weeks with another update , hopefully many more ascendant to report .
