A year in a beautiful garden
This is the two - acre garden of Mike and Brenda Snider in central Ohio .
As we head toward our 2d spring of the pandemic , we are reviewing impression of the past yr and would like to share some with other gardeners . The bone structure of the garden was planted 40 year ago ; however , we have become rather intense gardeners in the past 10 years . We have pictures of newfangled garden areas as well as established gardens .
Two spruce trees were off , making quad for new plantings . The springtime of 2020 was the first twelvemonth of the revised garden withtulipswe purchase when tour the Keukenhof Tulip Garden in Amsterdam .

subsequently in the spring we have the peony(Paeoniahybrid , Zones 3–8 ) from a sept farm and a few remain irises along the flower bottom by the yard b .
In late June , this ‘ The Grand Champion ’ rebel start flower . This plant is only one year onetime , and it continued to do like this all summer .
This is the revised vegetable garden in July . Changing this from a traditional garden toraised bedswas a big undertaking at the start of the pandemic in March 2020 . The scarecrow was made by our two grandsons .

In August there arehibiscus(Hibiscushybrid , Zones 5–9 ) , magic lilies(Lycoris squamigera , Zones 5–9 ) , and white-hot phloxes(Phloxpaniculata , Zones 4–8 ) with the barn , white fence , and evergreens as the background .

This is a view of a border bottom between our yard and the grain field . There are Autumn Joy sedum(Hylotelephium spectabile‘Herbstfreude ’ , Zones 3–9 ) that line the front of the bottom , with a surprise of wizard lily in August .

We end the twelvemonth with pictures of December .
More snowy wintertime December beauty .

Now we are busy plan our garden for our second bounce of the pandemic and look forward to more rewarding enhancements in the garden .
