You better posture down for this one … . , untried people are gardening more than ever before , but not where you would think . They are garden in their sleeping accommodation and in their dark cellar , ( and it ’s not pot that they are growing ) they are gardening in Second Life – an on - ancestry practical community that had its hey day a few year back , but then no one hears about it anymore . Today , there are still millions of on - line appendage living out an alternative lifespan in Second Life – they are just secretly doing it I know , because I am one of them .

In second life , anyone can fundamentally ‘ live ’ a 2d life – through an embodiment , that they make for themselves . It can look on the dot like you , or , it can look like anyone you require .   Avatars in Second Life   are growing rare Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree , exotic orchids in nursery and in their back chiliad . They have elaborate garden and where they raising organic ( digital ) fruits and veg which they   trade them to their neighbour , or canning and keep in their advanced kitchen ( or agrestic , and you could live in any historic or fantasy world that you care ) . Do n’t assume that all play or living in a virtual world are uneducated nurseryman , just check out some of the flora that I feel today . ( it was raining , so I thought that I should weed my digital garden instead ) .

It ’s truthful , an entire worldwide community has discovered Second Life – an on-line practical world that has been around for about ten years now , but one which has not gone forth . I admit that I have been a fellow member living in Second Life for about 6 age now , where I have built a house or two , have a ski lodge , an alpine garden and keep some aquatic flora in my geenhouse – it ’s addictive and fun , but I never recall about research the humankind to see who is gardening here – so this calendar week a flew and enthral around the existence of Second Life , and I was a little appalled at what I could incur for gardeners . Most everything !

In Second Life , one uses a currency called Linden Dollars , which you may gain each week or from selling digital mathematical product such as carrots that you raised , or T - shirt that you made for other avatars to wear out . Yes , there are even some multitude who have made thousands of dollars in real liveliness from selling digital apparel in Second Life ( SL ) . But most just join ( it ’s free for a basic membership , but costs $ 9.99 per month for full access ) just to play around in … well , a practical world .

ideate building your own home , let ’s say , in the Swiss Alps . then , you may go buy a nursery or two , and then buy uncommon plant to grow , or Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree and bush for your railway yard . It might snow , so be careful , there is weather condition in SL ! But nothing will freeze . I trust to construct a replica of my own home and garden , and then have some sport with it . This is what many large house are doing , IBM even has an island where they essay out structures and models .
